Ride Details
About the Ride: Swiss Cheese & Spotted Cows (SCSC) is a 5-day loop ride starting and ending in Mineral Point in southern Wisconsin. Meet Saturday, June 23, for packet pickup, a local tour and an optional dinner, then begin your bicycling adventure on Sunday, June 24. The tour ends in Mineral Point on Thursday, June 28, and is limited to 50 people, which means no waiting in long lines for food, restrooms, etc. Register early to secure your spot!
Luggage Transport and Support: A vehicle will transport your luggage each day to the next overnight town. Each person is allowed one soft-sided bag or duffel bag. SAG support will be offered, as will mechanical support, so all you'll need to do is ride your bike! To add to the enjoyment of your ride, please have your bike tuned up prior to arriving on the ride.
Cost: Cost is $735 per person for registrations received by March 31, 2012, and $765 per person thereafter. Rates are based on double occupancy. Register by Jan 31, 2012, and receive a free wicking shirt! The trip fee includes five nights lodging (Sat-Wed), 4 breakfasts (combination of continental and hot), 3 dinners, Swiss entertainment in New Glarus, cheese factory tour, brewery tour, baggage transport to each night’s destination, maps, SAG & mechanical support, and all the scenery and fun you can pack in! All other fees are on your own. For those who wish to stay by themselves, the single supplement is $240.
Mileage & Terrain: Each day's ride is approximately 60-65 miles. This part of Wisconsin and northern Illinois, known as the driftless area, consists primarily of rolling/hilly terrain, interspersed with some flatter stretches. As such, this tour is best suited for riders of intermediate ability and above who are comfortable climbing (and descending, too!) This tour is not recommended for beginners.

Madison, WI: 1 hr
Milwaukee, WI: 2.5 hrs
Chicago, IL: 3.5 hrs
Des Moines, IA: 4 hrs
Mpls/St. Paul: 5 hrs
Cancellation Policy: All cancellations received on or before May 20 will be refunded the full trip fee less $75.
Cancellations received after May 20 will forfeit the entire trip fee. All cancellations must be received in writing via postal mail, email or fax.
